Recovery After Your Nose Job

Recovery after nose job is not a walk in the park, but you will not be in enormousNose Job Recovery amounts of discomfort, or at least you shouldn’t be. Everyone’s recovery is specific to the nature of their nose surgery but in general the many experiences a little amount of pressure for the first couple of days and you may get a slight headache. For the first few days, Dr Simoni recommends head elevated when sleeping. Before your nose surgery Dr Payman Simoni office will give you a prescription for pain medication. Make sure to have it filled before your surgery date.

Swelling and Bruising After Nose Job

Over the course of the first few days after nose job, the swelling and bruising may increase.  Black eyes are not unusual following nose jobs.

For the first three days, applying cold compresses around (but not directly to) your nose will reduce the swelling and make you feel better. Warm compresses after day three help decrease the swelling.

In most cases the bruising after nose Job is usually gone by a week after the nose surgery. Dr Simoni usually advise on taking Arnica prior to and few days after nose surgeries to lessen the bruising and swelling. However, do not take anything else without first consulting with him.
 
You may still see small amount of bruising after the first two weeks but they should be easily covered with small make up.
 
Nose Bleeds after Nose Job

You will most probably feel congested for a few days after your surgery and you may have some bloody nasal discharge. Small amounts of nose bleeding are normal and should not alarm you. Any heavy bleeding and/or large amounts of blood clots are of concern though and in this case you need to notify Dr Simoni's office immediately. To make yourself feel less stuffy you may blow your nose gently.
 
Return to Work After Nose Job

After a week, the nasal will be removed and you can return to work. Your nasal breathing will continue to improve for several weeks.
 
Most patients need to take about a week off from work and other major activities. You will usually have a cast on your nose so regardless if you feel able to work after just a few days you probably won't want to be seen with the cast on. You may be able to work from home while some are brave enough to go to work with the cast on.
 
Once the cast is taken off you will look presentable 1 to 2 weeks after the nose job.
